Final Build
The game manager script is now slightly more efficient because it only runs the function for changing the player’s best friend if the best friend actually changes. Previously, it ran the function every time the player pressed space.
I fixed an issue where the best friend that carries over from level 1 to level 2 also carries over to levels after that.
The best friend count now updates every frame instead of instantaneously. This helps with game feel because the friend count is almost always in flux, driving the player to make more friends so that the number never stops increasing, even for a second.
The UI box for the Best Friend Name is now fixed after much difficulty.
The camera now ‘jumps’ when the player switches to a far-away best friend. The camera still isn't perfect, but this helps substantially because now the player will never be waiting for the camera to catch up with them on the other side of the level.
I designed and drew about 7 new best friend characters. I finalized all of the characters' names. I wrote at least 3 lines of dialogue for each of them.
I created an ending screen. It's pretty primitive, but it at least lets the player know how well they did so they can attempt to get a high score.
I switched the order of level 2 and level 3. Level 3 was previously the easier one, so I'm just fixing the difficulty curve.
